Hello, my name is Innocent Udoh and you are welcome to Innocently Speaking.com, the site for those determined to succeed without becoming freaks. You must have heard that you need to be smart or special or something like that to cut it in this competition saturated world. But I am here to tell you you can be whatever you want to be, remaining the way you are and doing things you enjoy doing. You don’t need to be like anybody else or live by anybody’s standards.

In pursuit of the secret of success I have consumed scores of self help materials and some really strange sermons and have reached the conclusion that it is either I am not smart enough or these things don’t work. It is because I know that there are many out there like me that I have created this site.

If you live in the third world like I do you will appreciate the need for another formula because much of what is available for self help do not take into consideration the reality afflicting the rest of us (who are in the majority anyway) like lack of electricity and institutionalised corruption that simply make goal setting sometimes a blueprint for misery. Even if you live in America or any other model civilization, how can you heed all these teachings when people like Tony Robbins and Dr Phil divorce their wives?

It is not the divorce in itself but the fact that these gurus who know everything about the human mind and how to make good choices and how to foster model relationships failing so badly at the things they profess should tell us that these practices are not always attainable. So you don’t need to try too hard!

A more practicable approach I believe would do. This is what Innocently Speaking.com is all about.

I will be presenting my views as light-heartedly as possible, for I generally like to laugh at myself. But from time to time you will find really serious stuff like SO YOU WANT TO BE RICH and VEGETARIANS SUCK, which underscore my core beliefs. But there is always stuff like GET INSPIRED IN MINUTES, which is a nice place to begin.

By the way I am Nigerian, 31, married to Precious and a literary artist. I like inspired music and good prose and I sing when there is no one about. If you leave me with a computer and keyboard it would do. I simply like to write and in addition to this blog I do prose of my own. You can call the latter my principal writing endeavour.
